- Army had several quality scoring chances, including a shot by Arroyo that rocketed off the crossbar in the 58th minute of action. The ball remained near the box and less than 30 seconds later, Alex Grave de Peralta took aim and fired, but Mac Burke, the Navy goalkeeper, picked up the save.
- In the second overtime period, the Black Knights saw one of their best scoring opportunities fall short. Christian Takaki rifled a shot at Burke, but the Navy keeper was unable to control it and it trickled back into play. However, still on the ground, Burke was able to make another stop on an O'Shea strike, before O'Shea got another rebound touch that sailed high of the net.
