Sprint Football Welcomes Mansfield on Saturday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point sprint football team returns to the comfortable confines of Shea Stadium as it welcomes Mansfield on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
The Black Knights enter the matchup at 1-1 after a 14-9 setback at Pennsylvania, while the Mountaineers are 0-2 after falling to the Quakers and Cornell.Â

ARMY (1-1, 1-1 CSFL)
• The Black Knights are a perfect 7-0 against the Mounties since their first-ever meeting in 2009.
• Sophomore kicker John Abercrombie has been a reliable option this far, connecting on all four of his field goal attempts (24, 33, 36 and 36 yards) and all five PATs.
• He was named the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Special Teams Player of the Week each of the first two weeks of the 2016 season.
• Sophomore defensive lineman James Scroggins is tied for the league-lead in sacks after recording three for a loss of 18 yards last week. He also leads the CSFL in tackles for loss with five for 25 yards.
• Senior captain Marqus Burrell leads Army's run game with 106 yards and a touchdown on 32 carries.
• Junior Quay Gilmore has provided a quality alternative to Burrell with 14 carries for 89 yards (6.4 avg.). Â
• Defensively, junior Curtis Jerzerick has recorded a team-high 13 tackles through the first two games, while fellow junior Colt Horton paces the Black Knights with 10 solo tackles.

• The Mountaineers last visited West Point in 2014, a game in which Army won, 48-32.
• Senior wide receiver Kurt Logan leads the CSFL in receptions with 14 and is second in receiving yards with 154.
• Fellow senior John Capwell tops the league in tackles (22) and solo stops (18).
• He was named the CSFL Defensive Player of the Week after a week one performance that saw Capwell record 12 tackles (nine solo), 1.5 tackles for loss, one sack and a fumble recovery against Penn. Â
• Freshman running back Devyn Nelsen ranks fourth in the league in rushing after averaging 63.5 yards per game.
• Sophomore quarterback Adam Hutchinson is coming off a career-performance in which he threw for 190 yards and a touchdown.
