Sprint Football Readies for Post

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point sprint football team continues its 2016 season on the road at Post University on Saturday for a noon kickoff.
The Black Knights first played the Eagles in 2011 and have won all five meetings.

ARMY (3-1, 3-1 CSFL)
• Last week, Army earned its 300th win in program history with a 43-12 victory over Cornell.
• Sophomore quarterback Keegan West was named the Army Athletic Association Athlete of the Week following his 18-for-23 performance for 249 yards and four touchdowns against the Big Red in the first half.
• West leads the Black Knights offense through the air this season with 36 completions on 61 pass attempts for 445 yards and six touchdowns.
• Senior Austin Breed and junior Ty Galyean have been valuable options for the Army quarterbacks, with Galyean leading the team in receiving yards (195) and touchdowns (three), and Breed holding the team lead with 15 receptions.
• Senior captain Marqus Burrell leads the ground attack with 227 yards on 58 carries (3.9 avg.) and a pair of scores.
• Junior Curtis Jerzerick and senior captain Matthew Tamburri lead the defense with 29 tackles apiece.
• Sophomore Angelo Matz has a team-high four sacks on the season, which have gone for a loss of 35 yards.
• Army ranks second in the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) with seven interceptions. Seven different players recorded picks for the Black Knights.
POST (0-3, 0-3 CSFL)
• The Eagles are 0-3 in 2016 with losses against Franklin Pierce, Navy and Chestnut Hill.
• Post's is averaging six points offensively, while issuing nearly 30 points per game.
• Defensively, Post has forced the third-most fumbles in the league with four.
• Wide receiver Jarrick Sharp is an offensive threat, averaging 82.33 yards per game. He totaled 19 receptions for 247 yards and a score in the first three games of the 2016 campaign.
