Women's Lacrosse Returns Home for Matchup With Hofstra

WEST POINT, NY – Army West Point women's lacrosse (0-4) will return home for just its second home game of the campaign on Saturday at noon, taking on Hofstra (1-2) from Michie Stadium. Following the game will be the annual leadHER Field Day presented by USAA in the Foley Athletic complex.

LAST TIME OUT

Army fell by a score of 16-9 at #24 Rutgers this past Saturday.
Brigid Duffy and Allison Reilly led the Black Knights with two goals each to go along with an assist.
Duffy had a career-high five ground balls in the effort to go along with six of Army's ten draw controls.
Meghan Pedrani caused a pair of turnovers while picking up three ground balls.
Lacey Bartholomay made seven saves in the cage making her first appearance of the season.

Brigid Duffy currently ranks in the top-five in the Patriot League in ground balls (14), caused turnovers (7) and draw controls (21).
Duffy leads the Black Knights in each category along with goals (11) and assists (5).
She has posted at least three points and four draw controls in each game this season.
Haley Kampert and Sarah Chernik have chipped in defensively this season, each causing five turnovers to this point.
Allison Reilly has scored a goal in every game this season, along with Duffy.
Carleigh Armstrong joins Reilly and Duffy as players to have multiple games on multiple goals this season.
Duffy is two points away from becoming the tenth cadet in program history to reach 100 career points.
Julia Gorajek is nine goals away from becoming the fourth member of the 100-goal club.
Gorajek had a season-high three points against Rutgers through a goal and two assists.

SERIES HISTORY

It marks the third straight season that Army matches up with Hofstra.
The Black Knights won the inaugural meeting 13-12 on Feb. 19, 2022, a game played indoors at Foley Athletic Complex at West Point which marked Michelle Tumolo's first win at the helm of the Black Knights.
Army got a win on the road last season, taking down the Pride by a score of 14-11.
Duffy had a game-high four goals and seven points in the win.
Lindsey Serafine got her first career win in the cage in last season's matchup, coming on in relief to make four saves on five shots faced.

SCOUTING THE PRIDE

Hofstra opened the season with a win over LIU before falling at #15 USC and Fairfield.
The Pride have been led by graduate students Taylor Mennella and Melissa Saconone who have each attained ten points through three games.
Hofstra was selected fifth in the CAA Preseason Poll following a (4-12, 1-6 CAA) campaign in 2023.
Mennella was a Preseason All-CAA selection at the attack position.
Sophomore Luchianna Cardello has started all three games in the cage and boasts a .520 save-percentage and 9.66 GAA.

The Black Knights will then head west to take on Cal on Wednesday, March 6^th at 6:00 PM EST.
