Men's Lacrosse Sings Second, Beats Navy 11-6

ANNAPOLIS, MD – The No. 7/8 Army West Point men's lacrosse team (10-2, 7-0) beat Navy (7-7, 4-3) for the first time since 2019 in a dominating 11-6 victory.
The Black Knights earned the win as part of the Army-Navy Star Series, presented by USAA.
Army opened the game on fire, scoring the first three goals to take a commanding 3-0 lead just five minutes into the game.
Reese Burek, Paul Johnson, and Andrew Kelly all netted goals in the first quarter.
Navy netted one to make things 3-1 with 4:32 left in the first quarter.
Evan Plunkett scored the final goal of the first and the first goal of the second quarter to put the Black Kights up 5-1
After a Navy goal, Burek almost immediately put Army back up by four with his second goal of the day.
Bailey O'Connor made it 7-2 shortly there after with 8:09 left in the half. One minute later, Jacob Morin fired an absolute rocket from deep to put Army up 8-2.
Burek later completed his first half hat trick to make it a seven goal game.
Army outshot the Midshipmen 24-21 in the first half. Knox Dent was outstanding making eight saves and only allowing two to get past him.
Navy opened the third quarter up with three goals making it 9-5.
Burek netted his fourth of the day to push the Army lead back to five.
Navy opened the fourth with a goal to make it 10-6.
Dent made a big save with 5:30 left to keep Navy from cutting the Army lead to three.
O'Connor would net one final goal to go up 11-6 and that would be the final as Army would earn the star and the right to sing second.
The win sets up a winner take all match on Friday night at Michie Stadium against Boston. The winner clinches regular season title and the right to host the Patriot League Tournament.
