Five Army Men’s Lacrosse Players Selected as 2026 USILA All-Americans, Sean Byrne & Evan Plunkett Claim Major Awards

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Army men's lacrosse earned its next postseason accolades this week as five Black Knights earned recognition to the 2026 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) All-American teams. Seniors Sean Byrne and Evan Plunkett earned major award recognition as Byrne earned the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Co-Outstanding Goalie of the Year title while Plunkett earned the Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Co-Outstanding Midfielder of the Year title.
Among the All-American honors, Sean Byrne and Evan Plunkett earned places on the First Team, John Sullivan claimed Third Team honors, and Keagan Treacy and Hill Plunkett secured Honorable Mention recognition. Plunkett is the program's first midfielder of the year, while Byrne is the third goalkeeper of the year in Army history.
Thursday's recognitions mark the fourth time Plunkett garnered Inside Lacrosse All-American honors, Byrne's second Inside Lacrosse All-American honors, and the first time Sullivan and Treacy have received the recognition.
Sean Byrne, Evan Plunkett, John Sullivan, and Keagan Treacy earned Inside Lacrosse and USA Lacrosse All-American honors for their 2026 seasons earlier in May.
Sean Byrne | Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Co-Outstanding Goalie of the Year & First Team All-American
Byrne collected the Ensign C. Markland Kelly Jr. Co-Outstanding Goalie of the Year and his USILA First Team All-American recognition after a dominant season in goal for the Black Knights. Byrne finished his season leading the nation for save percentage and total saves made while also standing fifth in the nation for goals-against average. A Tewaaraton Top 25 Finalist, Byrne earned a nation-leading .617 save percentage with a career-high 216 saves in 2026 for an 8.17 goals against average during his career-high 984 minutes in goal for Army. With his efforts in goal, the Black Knights held their opponents to just 144 goals allowed, finishing the season third in the nation in man-down defense on a .868 clip and fourth in the nation for scoring defense with a 8.47 mark.
Evan Plunkett | Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Co-Outstanding Midfielder of the Year & First Team All-American
Evan Plunkett secured the Lt. J.G. Donald MacLaughlin Jr. Co-Outstanding Midfielder of the Year and his USILA First Team All-American honors during a remarkable 2026 campaign. The Georgia native was a key producer for Army throughout his career and his output this season moves him to eighth among Army's all-time scoring leaders with 188 career points to become the highest scoring midfielder in program history. A Tewaaraton Top 25 Finalist, Plunkett led Army's offense in 2026 with 64 points and 40 assists this season with a team-fourth 24 total goals. Plunkett now stands fifth in program history for career assists with 100. A threat on both sides of the ball, Plunkett totaled 14 ground balls in 2026 with eight caused turnovers on his tally to help Army to its 11-3 regular season record.
John Sullivan | Third Team All-American
Sullivan earned his USILA Third Team All-American recognition after leading a young Army defense through an impressive 2026 campaign. Sullivan proved to be an indomitable defender for the Black Knights in 2026, recording a team-high 21 caused turnovers while picking up 31 ground balls. With Sullivan's input on the back line, the Black Knights finished the season leading the Patriot League and standing fourth in the nation in scoring defense (8.47) as well as third in the nation in man-down defense (.868). Sullivan seized his opportunities to attack the opposing goal himself, tallying three goals and dishing out two assists for five points in his senior season.
Keagan Treacy | Honorable Mention All-American
Treacy secured USILA Honorable Mention All-American honors after helping the Black Knights dominate the midfield this season as a short-stick defensive midfielder. Treacy collected 22 ground balls while causing 14 turnovers for Army's opponents while scoring a goal and tallying three assists in 2026. With Treacy's presence in the midfield, Army outperformed its opponents in ground balls (515-464), caused turnovers (147-125), successful clears (347-328), and goals scored (214-144).
Hill Plunkett | Honorable Mention All-American
Hill Plunkett earned his USILA Honorable Mention All-American recognition for an impressive sophomore season after making the move from midfielder to attack in 2026. The Roswell, Ga. native finished the season second on the team in total points with 54 from a team-third 30 goals and team-second 24 assists. With Plunkett's input, the Black Knights outscored their opponents 342-201 with 214 goals to their opponents' 144. With its scoring productions, Army finished the season eighth in the nation in scoring margin with a 4.12 mark.
