Army Welcomes Terriers for Weekend League Series

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Patriot League play will resume for the Army West Point softball team this weekend when Boston U. comes to the banks of the Hudson for a three-game set beginning on Saturday at noon.
The Black Knights and Terriers have squared off 14 times since the series began in 1990, with the Cadets holding the all-time series edge, 8-6. After Army swept Boston U. in 2015 and 2016, the Terriers got their revenge and bested the Black Knights with four wins last season, including a victory in the Patriot League Tournament.

- The win against the Orange marked the first-ever victory against an ACC opponent in program history.
- Courtney Springman has been on a tear, allowing no more than one earned run in any of her previous six starts.
- Her 1.77 ERA and 94 strikeout currently leads the Patriot League. Opponents are batting .232 against the freshman ace.
- With a homerun and a double against the Orange, Army has totaled 11 extra-base hits in its last six outings.

- The Terriers play in their first Patriot League game of their 2018 campaign.
- The non-conference slate featured some prominent wins, including victories over No. 1 Oklahoma, Michigan State, Duke and San Diego State.
- Boston U. is coming off a 1-0 loss to Boston College on Wednesday, but prior to that loss, had won eight straight.
- Three of the Terriers' most-frequently used pitchers carry an ERA under 2.50. Ali Dubois leads the group with a 2.38 ERA in 25 appearances with 66 strikeouts. She is currently holding the opposition to a .258 average.
- Boston U. leads the league with a .287 average at the plate as a team, with 247 hits, 39 doubles, 18 triples and 106 RBIs.
- The Terriers have three batters inside the top five in the league in average, led by Emma Wong, who has compiled 37 hits and a .378 average. Brittany Younan is also among that group and is tied for first in the nation in triples with eight.
