No. 12 Army Heads to Colgate for Saturday Tilt

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The 12/13th-ranked Army West Point men's lacrosse team continues Patriot League play Saturday when it travels to Colgate in Hamilton, N.Y. The contest will begin at 12 p.m. from Andy Kerr Stadium.

- Army is 1-1 on the road this year and is 1-0 in Patriot League road games.
- The Black Knights and Raiders will meet for the 40th time in the all-time series Saturday.
- Army holds a 30-10 edge over Colgate in the all-time series which began in 1923.
- The Black Knights opened the series with 19-straight wins from 1923 to 1992.
- The Cadets are 15-4 when playing in Hamilton, N.Y.
- Last season the Black Knights defeated the Raiders 10-8 at Michie Stadium.

- This has allowed Army to rank fifth nationally in scoring margin (4.43).
- Johnny Surdick leads the squad with 12 caused turnovers and sits tied for 12th in the country in caused turnovers per game at 2.00.
- AJ Barretto's 6.34 goals against average is good for second in college lacrosse.
- Army has allowed seven or less goals in all of its wins so far this year.

- The Army West Point men's lacrosse team jumped up to 12th this week in the U.S. Intercollegiate Lacrosse/Nike Coaches Poll and 13th in the Inside Lacrosse Maverik Media Poll.
- The Black Knights knocked off Holy Cross 5-3 on Saturday due to a career-best performance by Barretto in net.
CLASS OF 2018
- The senior class boasts 37 wins in their careers in an Army uniform and are three off of a program record.
- The group accounts for 58 points, 107 ground balls and 25 caused turnovers through the first seven games of the season.
- Army's seniors have produced half of the offensive points so far.
LAST TIME OUT
- Backed by Barretto's career-high 14 saves, the Army West Point men's lacrosse team topped Holy Cross 5-3 on Saturday.
- Barretto recorded his first career point in the contest with an assist in the third quarter. He also fin-ished the day with two caused turnovers and three groundballs.
- Nate Jones led the offense with a goal and an assist.
- Dom Ricca posted a career-high five groundballs and added two caused turnovers.
- Ragno went 6-for-10 at the faceoff X for a .600 efficiency.
EARLY ARMY LEADERS
- Jones leads the Black Knights offensively with 19 points. He leads the team with 13 goals each and is followed by Conor Glancy (12) and Symmes (11).
- Ragno boasts a .612 faceoff efficiency and is third on the team in ground balls with 19.
- LaMonica leads the squad with 34, while Surdick has 23.
- Barretto has made 52 saves. He averages 6.34 goals against and has a .634 save percentage.
NATIONAL AUDIENCE
- The Black Knights will play on CBS Sports Network for three contests this season.
- The first matchup on national television is at Boston University on April 7 at 3:15 pm as part of tripleheader of Patriot League action.
- The following week, the greatest rivalry in college lacrosse, Army-Navy, takes center stage at Michie Stadium with a noon faceoff on April 14.
- The final regular season game for the Black Knights on CBS Sports Network will be the final Patriot League matchup of the season at Loyola at 7 p.m. on April 20.
- The semifinal and championship rounds of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship will be televised by CBS Sports Network for the 10th-consecutive season.
- The semifinal round is set for Friday, April 27, with the championship game scheduled for Sunday, April 29.
- All three games will be hosted by the tournament's top overall seed.
- The Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Championship will also be televised live by CBS Sports Network on Sunday, May 6 at noon.
