ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team broke an Academy record in the 200 free relay on the third day of competition and safely maintained its position in second place at the Patriot League Championships.
Navy remains on top with 720.5 points with Army trailing in second. Bucknell (283), Boston U. (281.5) and Loyola (213.5) round out the top five with Lehigh (182.5), Colgate (129.5), American (100), Lafayette (88) and Holy Cross (83) right behind.

ARMY NOTABLES
- Jay Yang (3:53.17) and James Bilbrey (3:54.35) finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 400 IM, with Andrew Blomquist (3:56.93) placing eighth.
- After Brandon McCredie won the B-Final in the 100 fly at 49.05, Kevin Doo dove into the water and put up a third-place time of 47.80, just missing the Academy record by four-hundredths of a second. Johnny Ellery placed right behind Doo at 47.80 with Jason Rodriguez taking sixth at 48.68.
- Evin Rude tied the Academy record in the 200 free with a time of 1:36.77. He set that record previously in 2016 at the Star Meet against Navy. Peter Mikheyev (1:37.53) and Tom Ottman (1:38.35) rounded out the top-eight, while Graham Ungrady (1:38.88) took second in the B-Final.
- In the 100 breast, it was Ty Dang leading the way for Army with a fourth-place finish and time of 54.94. Brady Almand placed seventh in the event with his time of 55.51.
- Brian McKenrick was the top Army finisher in the 100 back after hitting the wall at 48.73, while Josh Sembrano took the sixth spot with a time of 49.08.
- On the 1-meter board, Hudson Kay claimed fourth after posting a score of 275.25.
- The foursome of McCredie, Rude, Nathan Hein and Hogan Harper closed out the night with a second–place finish and Academy record in the 200 free relay after posting a time of 1:20.01.

- "I'm very pleased with our fight and toughness today," head coach Mickey Wender said. "Our morning performances have been key. We've improved a lot as we've worked through the meet. It was a great job up and down the lineup. Yesterday we were at 62 percent and today we hit 88 percent. We like our current position and we are going to be looking to close out the meet on a high note."Â
