ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Army West Point men's swimming and diving team claimed its sixth straight second-place finish at the Patriot League Championships after wrapping up the competition with 780.5 points.
Navy finished on top with 990.5 points. Bucknell (411), Boston U. (406.5) and Loyola (286.5) rounded out the top five behind Army, with Lehigh (282.5), Colgate (167.5), American (118), Lafayette (114) and Holy Cross (108) finishing right behind.

ARMY NOTABLES
- The 780.5 points were the second-most in the league championships by an Army team in the last 16 seasons.Â
- Tom Ottman finished in second and set an Academy record in the 1650 free with his time of 15:07.22. He was the previous recorder holder in the event when he finished at 15:16.32 at last season's league championships.
- Brian McKenrick was the top Army finisher in the 200 back after touching the wall at 1:46.25. He was followed by Josh Sembrano (1:47.71) and Jay Yang (1:48.57), who placed sixth and seventh, respectively.
- Army scored well in the 100 free after Nathan Hein won the event at 44.01. Evin Rude took fifth at 44.78, while Brandon McCredie came in seventh with his time of 44.88.
- Ty Dang (2:01.46) and Brady Almand (2:02.85) finished seventh and eighth, respectively, in the 200 breast after Andrew Blomquist placed second in the B-Final at 2:02.14.
- The 200 fly was highlighted by Johnny Ellery's dominant performance. The sophomore swam to a time of 1:45.34 to win the event, while classmate Peter Mikheyev finished closely behind in second at 1:46.11.
- The championships came to a close with the 400 free relay and the group of Hein, Ellery, McCredie and Rude broke an Academy record after finishing at 2:56.22. McCredie and Rude were part of the relay group that previously held the record of 2:56.43.

- "I'm proud of our team," head coach Mickey Wender said. "We fought hard and swam fast. We broke a lot of records and won a bunch of events. We were tough, stayed focused, executed well and came together as a team. I was very proud of the way our team and staff represented the premiere leadership institution. The best is yet to come."
