Geyer Joins Men’s Golf Staff

West Point, N.Y. – Army West Point head golf coach Chad Bagley announced the addition of Nick Geyer to his staff as an assistant coach.
Geyer brings a wealth of golf related experience including his three years as a professional golfer from 2010-2012 on the eGolf Professional Tour and Hooters Tour.
"We are very fortunate to add Nick, who is such an accomplished individual in the golf industry, to our team," Bagley said. "We're also lucky to add a coach with great character who appreciates the USMA mission and is driven to provide our cadet-athletes with the Division I golf experience they deserve. Nick's depth of experience, which includes playing at the collegiate and professional levels, building and fitting clubs for tour players, and coaching at the Division I level, makes him the perfect fit for our squad. After just his brief time here at West Point so far, he has already had a tremendous impact on our program."
Geyer most recently was the assistant coach at San Diego, where for the past two seasons he developed the Toreros under the tutelage of head coach Cory Scoggin.
Prior to his stint at USD, Geyer was a Master Fitter and Pro Tour/Consumer Builder with Wilson Sporting Goods and their golf branch Wilson Staff. Before that, Geyer did time as the Senior Director of Rules and Competition for the Sun Country Golf House, which housed the USGA and PGA of America for New Mexico and West Texas.
Geyer graduated from New Mexico with a degree in communications in 2009, where he was a four-year letterwinner. During his time with the Lobos, he won medalist honors at the 2009 National Invitational Tournament, was a two-time Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar-Athlete, competed in the 2010 NCAA West Regional (tie-21st), and as a participant at the NCAA Championship.
As an amateur, Geyer earned a number of golf-specific distinctions: the 2016 SCGA Pub Links Champion, a Top-6 finisher in the SCGA Amateur, and was a member of the prestigious Honors Cup (best Amateurs in Southern California). Other recent highlights of his include an appearance at the USGA U.S. Mid-Amateur, where he advanced to the round of 32 in Match Play. Geyer also represented New Mexico in the USGA State Team Competition as a part of the best finish for the state of New Mexico in the history of the Championship.
In his professional career, he had great play on the eGolf Pro Tour, as well as the Hooters Professional tour, but a highlight came at the 2010 PGA Tour Q-School Pre-Qualifying round, where he finished and won the stage with a course record score of 63 in the final round.
