Army Golf Finishes Play at Inaugural Pearl at Kalauao Invitational, while Sparks earns Top Five Finish

AIEA, Hawaii – Army West Point Golf finished play at the Pearl at Kalauao Invitational on Thursday evening, with a team finish of 12th. The Black Knights were led on the course by sophomore Tyson Sparks, who had a career tournament on the course. Sparks finished second individually and recorded two rounds below par and two eagles.
Sparks finished the tournament with a first round of 67 (-5) in the first round, which was best among all golfers in the first round, while he shot a new career low round of 66 (-6) in the third round. Sparks earned a 67-74-66-207(-9) finish, which was second best individually. For the sophomore, this is his second consecutive top three finish after he earned a third-place finish at the Nassau Intercollegiate last time out.
The Wisconsin native, also lead all golfers in par 5s, with stroke average of 4.08 and eagles+ with two.
