OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. - The Army West Point golf team finished the OFCC/Fighting Illini Invitational hosted by Illinois at Olympia Fields Country Club with a team score of 73.
Â
Illinois claimed the title with a score of 5, while Oklahoma State jumped up to the No. 2 spot at 18, and Texas A&M fell to third at 24.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND ROUND NOTES
"The team got off to a good start today and played well, but unfortunately everyone in the lineup had one or two bad holes, said head coach Brian Watts. We need to clean up those mistakes and keep working hard."
"It is early in the season and we know our games aren't as sharp as we like right now, but it has always been about getting better every day and peaking at the right time. We are hosting Navy October 1-2 at West Point Golf Course for our annual star match, so the team is anxious to get back to West Point and start preparing for this Ryder Cup format event."
Army will be back in action on Oct. 1 and 2, when they host Navy as part of the Army-Navy Star Series presented by USAA.
