Bucknell Gets Past Men’s Soccer on Senior Night

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Bucknell scored less than a minute into the game and never looked back, using a pair of first-half tallies to defeat the Army West Point men's soccer team, 2-1, in the regular-season finale for both teams on Saturday evening's Senior Night at Clinton Field.
Army finishes the regular season 9-7-2 overall and 4-4-1 in the Patriot League, while Bucknell completes the year 7-10-2 and 4-4-1.
The Black Knights enter the Patriot League Tournament as the No. 6 seed and will travel to No. 3 Colgate for a quarterfinal match on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m.
Sebastiaan Blickmann tied Army's Rex Epps for the league lead with his 10th goal of the season, just 22 seconds into the contest, to give Bucknell a 1-0 advantage right out of the gate. Patrick Mahoney doubled the Bison lead in the 45th minute, as the visitors took a two-goal cushion into the locker room.
Freshman Peter Meyer scored his first collegiate goal for the Black Knights in the 82nd minute off an assist from senior Tanner Vosvick.

- Mahoney deflected a free kick sent into the 18-yard box from the left side by Andrew Leischner to double Bucknell's lead to 2-0 with only 43 seconds remaining in the first half.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Blickmann scored 22 seconds into the game, as he finished a cross from Austin Lenart to put the Bison on top early.
- Mahoney scored following a Bucknell free kick to make the score 2-0 in the 45th minute.
- Meyer headed home a cross from Vosvick for his first college goal in the 82nd minute to give Army its first, and only, tally of the evening.
