Sprint Football to Entertain Cornell on Friday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point sprint football team welcomes Cornell to the banks of the Hudson on Friday night with kickoff scheduled for 7 p.m.
The two sides are meeting for the 74th time since the inaugural 1957 season of the Black Knights. Army holds a 57-16 advantage in the all-time series, tied for the most victories against a single opponent with Princeton.

ARMY (2-1, 2-1 CSFL)
• The Black Knights bounced back with a convincing, 58-0, victory over Mansfield last weekend after falling to a non-service academy for the first time since 2010.
• Army leads the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) in 12 categories, including being the only team to average 10 or more yards on punt returns, the only team to not allow a successful fourth down conversion and the only team to not allow a score in the red zone.
• Sophomore kicker John Abercrombie currently ranks third in the league in scoring and first among kickers with 27 points.
• Defensive lineman James Scroggins is tied for second in the league in sacks with three and third in tackles for loss with 5.5.
• Senior captain Marqus Burrell leads Army's rushing attack with 163 yards, while Keegan West and Nate Schlosser matched Burrell for the team-lead with two touchdowns on the ground.
CORNELL (1-2, 1-2 CSFL)
• The Big Red are coming off a 29-24 setback against Chestnut Hill.
• Cornell has the third-best rushing attack in the league, averaging more than 200 yards per game.
• Evan Ball leads the effort with 167 yards on the season (55.7 per game), which ranks him fourth in the CSFL.
• Senior quarterback Robert Rannullo provides a dual-threat for the Cornell offense, ranking fifth in the league in passing efficiency (107.0) and fourth in total offense with 157.7 yards per game.
• Ryan Jackson leads the Big Red defense with 18 tackles.
• Their defense has recorded three sacks and interceptions, while forcing four fumbles.
• Marcus Weeks is currently tied for second in the league with two forced fumbles.
