Sprint Football Gears Up for Senior Day

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point sprint football team will host its final game of the 2016 season on Friday as the Black Knights welcome Franklin Pierce for senior night. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
Army will honor its 14 seniors prior to the game with seven players and seven senior managers, most of whom are former players. Those seniors are wide receivers Austin Breed and Cooper Lycan, running back and offensive captain Marqus Burrell, offensive linemen Luke Fazzari, Gerald McDonough and Dixon Pattillo, linebacker and defensive captain Matthew Tamburri, former linebacker Leroy Dunkelberger, former defensive backs Ted Gallagher, Sam O'Ferrall and Brad Paffett, former quarterback Mitch Wear and managers Mark McGinniss and Clayton Vermeesch.

ARMY (4-1, 4-1 CSFL)
• The Black Knights are 3-0 against the Ravens all-time, since the series started in 2013. In those games, Army has outscored FPU 92-25.
• Army leads the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) in 12 categories as a team, including scoring offense and scoring defense.
• Last time out, Army shutout Post, 64-0, on the road by scoring the most points since last season's record-setting 86-0 victory over Princeton. It was the Black Knights' third shutout this season.
• The offense was powered by the passing game as the team totaled a season-high 321 passing yards, led by sophomore Keegan West with 256 yards. West recorded his second-straight four touchdown game, which included the longest play from scrimmage for the Cadets on the year, a 73-yard connection with Breed.
FRANKLIN PIERCE (2-2, 2-2 CSFL)
• The Ravens rank second in the CSFL in sacks behind Army.
• Defensively, Franklin Pierce is one of the stingiest teams in the league, being led by Bailee Johns and Jacques Elias. Johns has the league lead in interceptions with three, while Elias's two fumbles forced places him second in the category.
• Their ground game is the strength of the offense, with Tyler Zech taking a lead role this season. He ranks second in the CSFL with 259 yards on 66 carries (3.9 avg.) and four touchdowns.
• Freshman Alex Revere has made an early impact for the Ravens, ranking sixth in the league in receiving yards per game with 60.2. He is the quarterrback's favorite target, notching 14 receptions in his rookie campaign.
