Women’s Cross Country Prepares for Star Meet

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's cross country team travels to Annapolis, Md., on Saturday for its annual Star Meet against Navy.
The race follows the men's meet, which will begin at 11 a.m.
The 2016 meet marks the 41st all-time meeting in the storied rivalry between the two academies. Both Army and Navy raced at Lehigh's Paul Short Run back on Oct. 1, with the Midshipmen placing 23rd and the Black Knights finishing 35th.
ARMY (1-0, 0-0 Patriot League)
• Army's last win at Navy came in 2010 when the Black Knights took home a 26-29 victory.
• Freshmen Bethany Nunnery, Sam Coletti, Andrea Karlen and Ramsey Wagner have been the driving force for the Black Knights this season as all four have scored in each meet this season.
• Nunnery and Coletti have consistently been in the top three for Army in all three meets this season.
• Sophomore Abby Halbrook, who placed second at last year's Star Meet, won the Maine Dual in her only competition of the season.
NAVY (0-0, 0-0 Patriot League)
• The Mids ran their best race at the Paul Short Run, with their top five finishing between 22-25 minutes.
• Senior Mary Cate Scully finished in the top two for Navy in three meets this year, both times secured her a top 10 spot overall.
• Junior Allison Parks has paced the Mids as the team's top finisher in two meets.
• Sophomore Erin McDonnell has been in Navy's top three for three meets this year, including two top 10 finishes.
