Charlotte Richman Wraps Up Historic 2025 Cross Country Season
November 22, 2025 | Women's Cross Country
COLUMBIA, Mo. – Charlotte Richman became the first Army West Point women's cross country runner to compete in the NCAA Championships on Saturday morning, wrapping up a historic season and cross country career.
Richman, a senior from Portland, Ore., finished in 211th place with a time of 20:42.5. The race wrapped up a historic cross country career for Richman who was the 2025 NCAA Northeast Region Individual Champion, 2025 Patriot League Runner of the Year, 2025 Patriot League Scholar Athlete of the Year, 2024 and 2025 Army-Navy Star Meet individual champion and a three-time Patriot League team champion.
Quotable – Charlotte Richman
"I was trying to go out smart. I was within myself early. At the 3k I didn't feel like I was out too hard. The mud took more energy out of me than I thought it would. It was pretty awesome to be here running against Olympians and people that have competed at the world championships. It's one of those experiences where I think the first time is pretty overwhelming. There has to be a first time for everything. It is definitely fuel for the track season."
Quotable – Director of Cross Country Mike Smith
"Charlotte did well today. Her finishing place wasn't what she had hoped for, but she was realistic in retrospect. We knew the early pace would be very fast and that it was important to manage her effort in the first couple of kilometers. She did that. We had hoped that she could move up in the race after the 3k, but she couldn't get going and struggled to maneuver in the congested running lane.
Charlotte completed a historic cross country season here today which also brings an end to one of the most decorated and accomplished cross country careers in the history of our program. We are proud of all of her accomplishments and look forward to what she can achieve on the track this winter and spring."
