Director of Track and Field and Cross Country Mike Smith's Comments:
"Our top seven finishers were freshman, and it was great to see how they handled this competition. I'm really happy about how they responded to this race with it being such a competitive race. We were hoping that they would handle the competition and compete at a high level, which they did. We are looking to improve heading into the deal meet against Navy. "
Comments from top finisher Bethany Nunnery:
"I think we did really well today, I think we can improve as a team but I was happy about the effort we gave. Hopefully we can continue to improve as a team and compete more in races against ranked opponents. Competing against those top teams was a new experience and it was really good to be able to run with some of the fastest girls in the country. It was a little bit intimidating but it was also a great experience to run with those top girls and to push myself to their level. "
