Ayden Opfer joined the Army West Point Football staff in the spring of 2021.Â
Beginning in 2022, he was elevated to director of football operations. Previously, he was the graphic content & communications coordinator in 2021.Â
Prior to joining the Black Knights, Opfer had a served a two-year stint at Temple University. He was a graduate assistant for video and graphics for six months before being promoted to Director of Creative Media for the Owls. While in Philadelphia, he organized various recruiting events and assisted with the media content used for Temple Football recruiting social media. Opfer oversaw a team of students that assisted with content for the department as well as the content being created to promote athletic events. He assisted with various recruiting content for prospective student-athletes such as graphics and photo shoots.
Opfer is no stranger to Post as he was an intern for video and graphic design in the summer of 2019, helping promote the cadet-athletes on social media platforms.
Opfer served as the Creative Content Coordinator and Assistant Recruiting Coordinator at Ohio Northern University from winter of 2018 to summer of 2019. During his time with the Polar Bears, he oversaw the media coverage helping create the overall branding look for the team’s social media accounts. He also organized the program’s largest visit day during the spring season and other events for prospective student-athletes.
Opfer graduated from Bowling Green State University in 2017 with a Bachelor of Science in Education. He earned his masters from Temple University in sport business this past August.Â
At West Point, Opfer reunited with former Owls video coordinator, now current Army Director of Football video operations, Chris Jann. The duo worked together for two years (2019-20) with the Owls.Â
