WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 18 ranked and #1 seed Army West Point men's lacrosse team hosts the No. 18 and #2 seed Loyola Maryland Greyhounds on Sunday for the 2026 rendition of the Patriot League Men's Lacrosse Championship game at Michie Stadium.

The Black Knights (12-3, 6-2 Patriot League) last faced the Greyhounds (10-5, 6-2 Patriot League) in Baltimore on April 18 and emerged with a 15-9 victory. The two last faced off in the Patriot League tournament in 2023 when the Black Knights defeated the Greyhounds 10-8 in the title game in Boston.

LAST TIME OUT

Army earned its 33rd win over Lehigh on Friday with a 13-6 victory over the Mountain Hawks at Michie Stadium to advance to the 2026 Patriot League Championship.
Brayden Fountain and Gunnar Fellows led the Black Knights' offense with four points each from two goals and two assists each. Hill Plunkett followed with three points (1g, 2a).
Netminder Sean Byrne tallied 11 saves in the contest to bring him to 185 saves and a .609 save percentage in 2026.

National Rankings: The Black Knights earned a spot in three national polls this week. Army ranked 14th on the USILA Week 12 Coaches' Poll, 14th on the Inside Lacrosse Nike Lacrosse Week 12 Media Poll, and 16th in the USA Lacrosse Magazine Poll.

Patriot League Postseason Awards: For the third consecutive season, Army collected three of the Patriot League's major postseason awards. Evan Plunkett earned Offensive Player of the Year, John Sullivan earned Defensive Player of the Year, and Sean Byrne earned Goalkeeper of the Year. Keagan Treacy joined the trio on the First Team All-Patriot League while Hill Plunkett and Aiden Weisenborn represented Army on the Second Team All-Patriot League and Gunnar Fellows earned Patriot League All-Academic honors.

Scoring Surge: The Black Knights' sophomores and seniors have contributed a combined 272 of Army's total 309 points this season. The sophomores (a.k.a. yearlings or yuks) total a combined 138 while Army's seniors (a.k.a. firsties) are responsible for 134 of those points.

History in the Making: Seniors Evan Plunkett and Gunnar Fellows are steadily climbing Army's scoring records in their fourth season with the Black Knights. Plunkett stands 12th all-time with 181 total points while Fellows' 162 total points rank him 15th in program history.

National Leaderboard: Senior goalkeeper Sean Byrne currently stands second in the nation in save percentage (.609) and sixth in the nation in goals-against average (8.22). Byrne is 15 saves away from becoming just the fourth Army goalkeeper since 2000 to record at least 200 saves in a single season.

A Tip of the Hat: At least one Black Knight has scored a hat trick in 14 of Army's games this season with two hat tricks against Lafayette, Mercer, Michigan, Bucknell, Navy, and Colgate. Brayden Fountain leads the way with seven hat tricks. Fountain, Hill Plunkett, and Evan Plunkett all earned hat tricks against Navy.

Mid-season All-Americans: Seniors Evan Plunkett and Sean Byrne each earned recognition as Nike Lacrosse Media Mid-season All-Americans in April. Plunkett earned First Team honors while Byrne earned a spot on the Third Team.

Series History: Army currently holds a 11-9 record against the Greyhounds, dating back to their first meeting in 1943 - a 9-3 win for Army. Army last faced Loyola Maryland in the Patriot League tournament in 2023 - Army earned a 10-8 win in the championship game.

Evan Plunkett (senior, midfielder) – Leads the team with 57 points (22 goals, 35 assists) this season. Among active NCAA DI players, stands 17^th in the nation in career points (181), tied for fifth in career assists (95), and tied for 45^th in career goals (86). Currently stands 12^th among Army's all-time scoring leaders. Second-highest career point scorer for the Black Knights since John Glesener in 2015 (208) after Brendan Nichtern in 2022 (284). Highest scoring midfielder in Army program history.
Gunnar Fellows (senior, attack) – Second on the team with 32 goals this season, adds 17 assists for a team-second 49 points this season. Among active NCAA DI players, stands 14^th in the nation in career goals (116) and 23^rd in career points (162). Currently stands 15^th among Army's all-time scoring leaders.
Sean Byrne (senior, goalkeeper) – Leads the Patriot League in goals against average (8.22) and in save percentage (.609). Stands second in the nation in save percentage and sixth in the nation in goals against average. Anchors an Army defense that ranks third in the nation in man-down defense (.853), fourth in the nation in scoring defense (8.47), and sixth in the nation in scoring margin (4.47).
John Sullivan (senior, defense) – Leads the Black Knights with 20 caused turnovers this season. Adds 26 ground balls to his stat line to help Army lead its opponents with 132 caused turnovers to 102 and 460 ground balls to 404 over 15 games played.
Keagan Treacy (senior, defensive midfielder) – Stands third on the team in caused turnovers with 13 and tallies 21 ground balls over the season. Helps run an Army midfield that holds its opponents to a .848 clear percentage and to a .147 extra-man percentage.
