Men's Basketball Continues Patriot League Slate; Hosts Loyola Maryland and Travels to Boston U

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's basketball (7-8, 1-1) continues its Patriot League journey on Wednesday and Saturday, hosting the Loyola Maryland Greyhounds (4-11, 0-2) before heading to Boston to take on the Boston University Terriers (5-10, 0-2).
First, the Black Knights stay inside Christl Arena for the second straight game, welcoming Loyola Maryland on Wednesday, Jan. 7, with a 6 p.m. ET first tip.
Last season, Army swept the Greyhounds in the regular season, earning a 74-72 win to get their first win in Patriot League play in the 2024-25 season. Then, Army earned a road win in Baltimore, defeating the Greyhounds 64-60.
Then, Army will head east to Boston on Saturday, Jan. 10, at 1 p.m. ET, taking on Boston University at Case Gym.
Army split the regular-season series with the Terriers last season, with both teams winning on their respective home courts. The Terriers earned a 71-63 win inside Case Gym while Army earned a 68-62 win inside Christl Arena.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+, with Army's game against Loyola Maryland also airing on the Army Sports Network.
ARMY STORYLINES:
WHAT HAPPENED LAST WEEK – Army finished last week 1-1, earning an overtime win against Lehigh on the road and falling to Colgate at home. To open Patriot League play, Army defeated the Mountain Hawks in overtime, 85-78. With the win, the Black Knights earn their fourth straight win. Then, Army saw its first loss in Patriot League play on Saturday, falling to the Raiders inside Christl Arena, 69-76. It was Army's first loss since falling to George Washington on December 2, 2025.
REBOUNDING MASTERS – The Black Knights lead the Patriot League in three of the four major rebounding categories, including rebounds a game (38.13), defensive rebounds a game (26.33) and offensive rebounds a game (11.80). Army is also second in the Patriot League in rebounding margin (+2.9). In Army's win against Lehigh, the Black Knights earned a +20 rebounding margin, the best margin against a Div. I team since the 2021-22 season, where Army had a +29 margin against Merrimack.
CURRY CASH & DIME – Junior guard Ryan Curry leads the Black Knights' offense, averaging 14.8 points a game, 5.0 assists a game and 5.5 rebounds a game. Against Colgate on Saturday, Curry finished with a game-high 24 points with six made three-pointers. In Army's most recent win against Lehigh, Curry earned his first career double-double on New Year's Eve, finishing the game with a team-high 19 points alongside a career-high 14 rebounds. The junior also added three assists and two steals. The junior has scored in double digits in 12 games this season and 20+ points in three games, plus has added 5+ assists in seven games this season.
PAINT PRESENCE – Junior forward Tate Laczkowski, the tallest player on Army's roster, averages a team-best 53.7 shooting percentage, plus adds 5.4 rebounds a game. He earned nine rebounds in his first career start versus Maritime, eight rebounds against St. Thomas, seven rebounds at Cornell, plus another eight rebounds each against Marist, Lehigh and Colgate. To open league play, Laczkowski earned a career-high 11 points with eight rebounds and four assists. He matched two career bests against Colgate, scoring 11 points and adding two blocks.
THE BELL TOLLS – Sophomore guard Jaxson Bell played a crucial role off the bench for Army this season, now averaging 10.8 points a game, second-most on the team and a team-high 1.1 steals a game. In Army's game against Binghamton, Bell earned a career-high 24 points while tying his career-best with six made field goals and five made three-pointers. Against Lehigh last Wednesday, Bell finished with 12 points, eight coming in overtime. Bell has finished seven games in double figures and earned a double-double in Army's win at UMBC.
THE SIXTH MAN – Freshman guard Jackson Furman has made an immediate impact for the Black Knights, averaging 10.5 points a game off the bench while averaging 22.2 minutes a game. The plebe earned a career-high and game-high 20 points against Duke, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 55.5 percent from the three-point line. Furman also earned 17 points in his first collegiate game against SUNY Maritime, the most a freshman has scored in his debut in 11 seasons and the second most since 2000. In Army's most recent win against Lehigh, the plebe scored 15 points while earning career-highs in made free throws (7), rebounds (7), assists (4), steals (1) and minutes (35).
THE BOOGEYMAN – Sophomore forward Jacen Holloway is currently fourth on the team in scoring efforts for Army, averaging 10.1 points a game while shooting 50 percent from the floor. Holloway finished with 13 points in Army's win against Lehigh. On November 18, Holloway had a career performance, earning a career-best 22 points on the road against Cornell. He also added career-highs in field goals made (9) and three-pointers made (2). His performance also marked his first 20+ point performance in his career. He finished with 11 points against Gallaudet and finished with a team-high 12 points at UMBC. He has scored in double-digits in eight games, the second most on the team.
JORNADO WARNING – Jorn Everson played a key role off Army's bench last season and now serves as a primary member of Army's starting lineup and currently averages 8.5 points a game. His most recent double-digit performance was 10 points at Lehigh. The senior had a strong showing against Cornell on the road, finishing with a career-best and game-high 24 points, while tying his career-highs in made field goals (8) and three-pointers made (4). He also had a career-high four made free throws. The game marked the second game Everson has scored 20+ points in a single game.
THE WALLET – A key role player for Army, Kevin McCarthy averages 8.3 points a game. In Army's game against Gallaudet, the sophomore sharpshooter matched several career-highs, which encompassed points (18) with field goals made (7), three-pointers made (4) and assists (4). Now, he has scored 4+ three-pointers in four games this season, including the game against Gallaudet, which includes Army's matchups between Maritime, St. Thomas and East Texas A&M. He also earned a season-high six rebounds at Cornell. He has finished five games scoring in double-digits.

Scouting the Greyhounds

- Jacob Theodosiou leads the Greyhounds in three of the major statistical categories. Theodosiou leads the team in points (15.3), assists (3.6) and steals (2.0) a game.
- Emmett Adair leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 5.1 a game. The freshman also adds 12.0 points a game.
- Two other Greyhounds average double-digits this season: Braeden Speed (13.2) and Jordan Stiemke (10.3).

- Ben Defty is second on the team in scoring, averaging 12.7 a game. He also averages team-highs in rebounds a game (6.5) and blocks a game (1.6).
- Chance Gladden, this week's Patriot League Rookie of the Week, adds 12.6 points a week and a team-high 3.6 assists a game.
