Men's Basketball to Play at Holy Cross, Host American in Week Three of Patriot League Play

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's basketball (7-10, 1-3) starts week three of Patriot League play on Wednesday, heading to Worcester to take on the Holy Cross Crusaders (7-10, 2-2), then will host the American University Eagles (10-8, 3-2) inside Christl Arena on Sunday.
First, Army heads to Massachusetts for the final time during the regular season, playing the Holy Cross Crusaders inside the Hart Center on Wednesday, January 14, at 6 p.m. ET.
Last season, the Black Knights swept the Crusaders during Patriot League play, with Army first getting a 76-71 victory on the road inside the Hart Center before adding a 68-65 win against Holy Cross at Christl Arena.
Then, the Black Knights return to Christl Arena on Sunday, Jan. 18 at 1 p.m. ET, hosting last season's Patriot League champions, the American University Eagles.
Army split the regular season series with the Eagles last season. The Black Knights first went to Washington, D.C. to play American and fell 68-71. Then, Army got the home win inside Christl Arena 76-69, with Ryan Curry leading the way with 25 points in the matchup.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+, with Army's game against American also airing on the Army Sports Network.
ARMY STORYLINES:
WHAT HAPPENED LAST GAME – Army faced an offensive shootout on the road inside Case Gym, battled tough but ultimately fell to Boston U, 91-100. The game marked the most points Army has scored against a Div. I opponent in a regulation game this season. The most against Binghamton on December 23, 2025, where Army scored 95 points in the overtime win. The most points Army has earned against any opponent this season was 111 points against Gallaudet.
MILESTONE WATCH – Junior guard Ryan Curry is 13 points away from reaching 1,000 career points. When Curry reaches the milestone, he will be the 38th player in program history to reach the mark. The last Army player to reach the milestone was Jalen Rucker in the 2023-24 season, who went on to finish sixth on Army's all-time scoring list with 1,877 points during his playing career at West Point. Curry averages 15.6 points a game and 21.5 points a game in Patriot League play.
REBOUNDING MASTERS – The Black Knights lead the Patriot League in two of the four major rebounding categories and are second in the other two categories. Army leads the league in rebounds a game (37.41) and offensive rebounds a game (11.82), plus is second in defensive rebounds a game (25.59) and rebounding margin (+1.6). In Army's win against Lehigh, the Black Knights earned a +20 rebounding margin, the best margin against a Div. I team since the 2021-22 season, where Army had a +29 margin against Merrimack.
CURRY CASH & DIME – Ryan Curry leads the Black Knights' offense, averaging 15.6 points a game, 5.1 assists a game, while also adding 5.0 rebounds a game. During league play, Curry has averaged 21.5 points a game, which sits as the third-highest scoring average in the league. In his most recent appearance, Curry finished with 24 points and eight assists against Boston U. He added 19 points, three assists and two rebounds against Loyola Maryland. Against Colgate, Curry finished with a game-high 24 points with six made three-pointers. In Army's most recent win against Lehigh, Curry earned his first career double-double on New Year's Eve, finishing the game with a team-high 19 points alongside a career-high 14 rebounds for the first double-double of his career. The junior has scored in double digits in 14 games this season and 20+ points in four games, plus has added 5+ assists in eight games this season.
PLEBE PHENOM – Freshman guard Jackson Furman has made an immediate impact for the Black Knights, averaging 11.2 points while averaging 23.6 minutes a game. He earned his first career double-double in his second career start, scoring 12 points and grabbing a career-high 10 rebounds against Loyola. Against Lehigh, the plebe scored 15 points while earning career-highs in made free throws (7), rebounds (7), assists (4) and minutes (35). The plebe earned a career-high and game-high 20 points against Duke, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 55.5 percent from the three-point line. Furman tied his career-high of 20 points against BU on Saturday. He also earned 17 points in his first collegiate game against Maritime, the most a freshman has scored in his debut in 11 seasons and the second most since 2000.
THE BELL TOLLS – Sophomore guard Jaxson Bell played a crucial role off the bench for Army this season, now averaging 10.5 points a game, third-most on the team and a team-high 1.1 steals a game. In Army's game against Binghamton, Bell earned a career-high 24 points while tying his career-best with six made field goals and five made three-pointers. Against Lehigh last Wednesday, Bell finished with 12 points, eight coming in overtime. Bell has finished eight games in double figures and earned a double-double in Army's win at UMBC. He scored 13 points against Boston U on Saturday.
JORNADO WARNING – Jorn Everson played a key role off Army's bench last season and now serves as a primary member of Army's starting lineup and currently averages 8.4 points a game. His most recent double-digit performance was 13 points at Boston U. The senior had a strong showing against Cornell on the road, finishing with a career-best and game-high 24 points, while tying his career-highs in made field goals (8) and three-pointers made (4). He also had a career-high four made free throws. The game marked the second game Everson has scored 20+ points in a single game.
THE WALLET – A key role player for Army, Kevin McCarthy averages 8.2 points a game. The sophomore sharpshooter finished with 16 points on a career-high four made three-pointers against Loyola Maryland. In Army's game against Gallaudet, he matched several career-highs, which encompassed points (18) with field goals made (7), three-pointers made (4) and assists (4). Now, he has scored 4+ three-pointers in five games this season, including the game against, which includes Army's matchups between Maritime, St. Thomas, East Texas A&M and Gallaudet. He also earned a season-high six rebounds at Cornell. He has finished six games scoring in double-digits.
THE BOOGEYMAN – Sophomore forward Jacen Holloway is currently fourth on the team in scoring efforts for Army, averaging 9.8 points a game while shooting 48.9 percent from the floor. Holloway finished with 13 points in Army's win against Lehigh and 12 points against Loyola Maryland. On November 18, Holloway had a career performance, earning a career-best 22 points on the road against Cornell. He also added career-highs in field goals made (9) and three-pointers made (2). His performance also marked his first 20+ point performance in his career. He finished with 11 points against Gallaudet and finished with a team-high 12 points at UMBC. He has scored in double-digits in eight games, the second most on the team.
PAINT PRESENCE – Junior forward Tate Laczkowski, the tallest player on Army's roster, averages a team-best 52.1 shooting percentage, plus adds a team-high 5.3 rebounds a game. He earned nine rebounds in his first career start versus Maritime, eight rebounds against St. Thomas, seven rebounds at Cornell, plus another eight rebounds each against Marist, Lehigh and Colgate. To open league play, Laczkowski earned a career-high 11 points with eight rebounds and four assists. He matched two career bests against Colgate, scoring 11 points and adding two blocks.
THE BOOK OF ELI – Sophomore forward Joshua Eli serves as a role player off the bench for Army this season. At Boston U on Saturday, the sophomore hit a career-high two three-pointers for six points. Against Loyola Maryland, Eli added 10 points off the bench while shooting 50 percent from the field and three-point line, while adding seven rebounds. He also had a career performance against FDU on Nov. 26. Eli finished with two career-highs, 12 points and 11 rebounds. Those totals marked not only Eli's first career double-digit performance, but also his first career double-double. Eli was the first Black Knight to earn a double-double in a game this season.
