Women's Lacrosse to Host Rutgers in 2025 Season Opener

WEST POINT, NY - Army West Point women's lacrosse is set to open the 2025 campaign with a home matchup against Rutgers on Saturday, February 8th, with opening draw set for noon from Michie Stadium.

The game will be streamed on ESPN+ while admission is free with the first 150 fans in attendance set to receive a free Army trapper hat.

Army was selected to finish third in the Patriot League Preseason Poll after a (9-8, 7-2) campaign in 2024 which saw the Black Knights land third in the league.
Juniors Brigid Duffy and Allison Reilly joined Michelle Tumolo on the USA Lacrosse u20 squad this past summer in Hong Kong for the World Championships, with the trio going undefeated on the way to a gold medal.
The Black Knights saw both Duffy and Reilly named to the All-Patriot League Preseason Team.
Reilly led the Patriot League in 2024 with 5.59 points per game, totaling 55 goals and 40 assists.
Duffy ranked second with 5.53 points per game while leading the conference in caused turnovers with 29.
Duffy tabbed Tewaaraton Top-50 Watch list honors for the upcoming campaign.
Duffy was also named a Preseason First Team All-American by USA Lacrosse and Nike Lacrosse/ILWomen.
Army returns junior Lindsey Serafine in goal who has made 19 starts in her career to the tune of a .430 save-percentage and 11.09 goals against average.
Juniors Sarah Chernik and Meghan Pedrani along with senior Haley Kampert are set to anchor the defense as the trio each started over 15 games this past season.
Chernik ranked second on the team with 33 ground balls while also causing 12 turnovers.
Pedrani picked up 24 ground balls with nine caused turnovers and was named to the Patriot League All-Academic Team following the season.
Kampert serves as a team captain alongside Duffy and Lexi Patterson.
Sophomore Ryan Remaly started the final four games of the 2024 season and collected 22 total points to lead the current sophomore class. The midfielder also tabbed 13 ground balls and 12 draw controls as one of two returners to reach double-digits in both categories.
Junior Lily Valentini and Senior Gabrielle Mirak also return after logging 20-plus points this past season, having logged 22 and 18 goals, respectively.
The Black Knights welcome eight new members to the team comprising the plebe class of 2028, featuring Emilee DeGrand, Kate Gallagher, Emma Hendry, Jessie Larkin, Paige Moretti, Amelia Reed, Jordan Roessler and Reilly Sullivan.
Noto Family Head Coach Michelle Tumolo enters his fourth season at the helm at the Black Knights.
Tumolo has recorded a 36-18 (.667) record through her first three seasons.
Army is 20-5 at home in the Tumolo era.
The Black Knights are 5-4 all-time in season openers and 5-4 all-time in home openers.

Army is 1-2 all-time against the Scarlet Knights.
Rutgers topped the Black Knights by a score of 16-9 in 2024 in Piscataway.
The Black Knights won the only previous meeting at West Point in 2022 by a score of 10-5, which marked the program's first-ever victory over a top-ten opponent.
Rutgers remains the lone Big Ten opponent that Army has faced off against in program history.
