No. 17/18 Women’s Lacrosse Earns Patriot League Victory in Big Win against American

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point women's lacrosse earned their seventh consecutive victory in a 20-5 over the American Eagles (2-10, 1-4 Patriot League). Army (10-2, 5-0 Patriot League) has now scored at least 20 goals in their last two conference matchups. Senior Sarah Chernik earned a new career high in goals in a game with two goals.

The Black Knights will continue Patriot League play with a pivotal game in Annapolis, Md., against Navy for the Star Game, which is part of the Star Series Presented by USAA, on Saturday, April 11.

- Senior Brigid Duffy scored the games' opening goal at 10:50, and senior Allison Reilly followed with back-to-back assists as senior Lily Valentini and Duffy pushed the lead to 3–0 five minutes into the game. Reilly added a man-down goal at 8:10, Valentini struck again at 4:55, and Duffy completed her first-quarter hat trick moments later. Reilly's second goal at 1:37 capped a 7–0 first-quarter run before American finally converted a late quarter man-up chance.
- The Black Knights kept rolling in the second quarter. Junior Ryan Remaly's free-position goal jump-started another burst, followed by tallies from senior Chloe Garrett, Duffy, senior Emma Grace Hepler, senior Sarah Chernik, and Reilly to stretch the margin to 13–1. Army went 6-for-6 on clears, outshot American 11–4 and continued to dominate possession behind Chernik's work at the draw circle in the first half.
- Valentini completed her hat trick early in the third, Duffy added her fifth of the day, and Chernik pushed the lead to 17–2. American scored twice late in the third quarter, but the Black Knights remained firmly in command.
- Army closed out the fourth quarter with goals from freshman Emma Ciocon, senior Brooke Stocku, and freshman Thais Jackson, who buried a free-position shot with four seconds left to hit the 20-goal mark.
- The Black Knights finished with a 42–14 shot advantage, won 18 draws, and posted a perfect 23-for-23 clearing performance. Duffy delivered a standout two-way effort with 5 goals, 3 assists, 5 ground balls, and 4 caused turnovers, while Reilly added 3 goals and 5 assists. Valentini scored four times, and Chernik anchored the midfield with 9 draw controls.
