- The Black Knights struck first at 13:31 and built immediate momentum, scoring five straight goals to open the game while controlling six of the first seven draws. Senior Brigid Duffy powered the surge with three goals in the opening quarter, attacking downhill and finishing through contact as Army dictated tempo from the outset.
- Yale finally broke through late in the first with a free-position goal and added another in the closing seconds, but Army still carried a 5–2 lead into the break after outshooting the Bulldogs 11–4 and holding them without a settled offensive rhythm.
- The Bulldogs briefly climbed back into the game early in the second quarter, capitalizing on two straight possessions to pull within 5–4. But that would be as close as they came. Army flipped the momentum back in its favor with a poised, four-goal response that showcased its balance and execution. Junior Ryan Remaly stopped the run with a finish inside.
- Duffy added her fourth of the day minutes later, and junior Geneva Milch Cesoni scored off a feed from Paige Moretti as the Black Knights rebuilt a multi-goal cushion. Remaly then struck again with eight seconds left in the half, sending Army into the locker room up 9–4 and firmly back in command.
- Army extended the margin early in the third quarter, again turning defense into offense. Moretti scored at 9:55, and senior Allison Reilly followed less than a minute later to push the lead to 11–4. Yale answered with two goals, including a free-position finish, but Army's defense held firm. Goalie Lindsey Serafine delivered several timely stops, and the Black Knights' ride disrupted Yale's clears, preventing the Bulldogs from sustaining any extended pressure.
- Yale made one final push in the fourth, scoring twice to close within 11–8 as it began winning more draws and generating cleaner looks. But Army responded once more. With just over three minutes remaining, junior Lily Valentini converted a man-up opportunity to restore a four-goal lead, effectively sealing the win and quieting Yale's late surge.
- Army and Yale finished even in total shots at 30 apiece, but the Black Knights generated more efficient opportunities, outshooting Yale 16–13 on goal. Army also won the draw-control battle 13–9, led by senior Sarah Chernik's six wins and Duffy's five, allowing the Black Knights to control long stretches of possession.
- Serafine anchored the defensive effort with 10 saves, while Reilly added two goals and three assists to complement Duffy's seven-point performance. Valentini and Remaly each scored twice, and Milch Cesoni added a goal and two ground balls.
The Black Knights will now turn their attention to Patriot League play after finishing out of conference competition and will host American on Saturday, April at 12 p.m. at Michie Stadium.
