Men's Basketball Heads FDU Thanksgiving Classic, Taking On East Texas A&M, FDU

WEST POINT, N.Y. — Army West Point men's basketball (1-5) heads to New Jersey on Tuesday and Wednesday to take part in the FDU Thanksgiving Classic, taking on the East Texas A&M Lions (3-3) and the Fairleigh Dickinson Knights (1-5).
First, Army will take on East Texas A&M on Tuesday, Nov. 25, at 2 p.m. ET inside the Bogota Savings Bank Center. This will be the first time the Black Knights and Lions have faced off, with East Texas A&M hailing from the Southland Conference.
The next day, Wednesday, Nov. 26, at 2 p.m., the Black Knights will take on tournament host FDU. Unlike East Texas A&M, the two teams have a long history with each other. The two programs most recently faced off last season, with Army earning an 84-70 win inside Christl Arena.
The game against the FDU Thanksgiving Classic host, FDU, will also stream live on NEC Front Row and the YES Network.
ARMY STORYLINES:
WHAT HAPPENED LAST GAME: In a Hudson Valley clash of New York programs, Army West Point (1-5) fell to the Marist Red Foxes (3-2), 73-65, at McCann Arena. Army struggled from the field, shooting 37.9% for the game, while Marist was paced by four players in double figures, led by Myles Parker, who scored a game-high 17 points. Ryan Curry led Army with 16 points.
THE BOOGEYMAN: Sophomore forward Jacen Holloway currently leads the scoring efforts for Army, averaging a team-high 11.7 points a game while shooting 59.6 percent from the floor. On November 18, Holloway had a career performance, earning a career-best 22 points on the road against Cornell. He also added career-highs in field goals made (9) and three-pointers made (2). His performance also marked his first 20-point performance in his career and his third double-digit performance of the young season.
CHEF (RYAN) CURRY: Junior guard Ryan Curry returns for his third season with the Black Knights, currently averaging 11.4 points a game while adding a team-high 4.2 assists a game. The junior has scored in double digits for the past four games, scoring a season-high 16 points and adding a season-best eight rebounds against Marist. He scored 13 points while adding a game-high six assists at Cornell. The junior earned a team-high 11 points against Harvard, adding four rebounds and three assists. In his first game back, the junior finished with 10 points and added a season-high seven assists plus six rebounds against St. Thomas.
THE SIXTH MAN: Freshman guard Jackson Furman has made an immediate impact for the Black Knights, averaging 11.5 points a game off the bench while averaging 16.8 minutes a game. The plebe earned a career-high and game-high 20 points against Duke, shooting 53.8 percent from the floor and 55.5 percent from the three-point line. Furman also earned 17 points in his first collegiate game against SUNY Maritime, the most a freshman has scored in his debut in 11 seasons and the second most since 2000.
JORNADO WARNING: Jorn Everson played a key role off Army's bench last season and now serves as a primary member of Army's starting lineup and currently averages 10.8 points a game. The senior had a strong showing against Cornell on the road, finishing with a career-best and game-high 24 points, while tying his career-highs in made field goals (8) and three-pointers made (4). He also had a career-high four made free throws. The game marked the second game in which Everson has scored 20+ points in a single game.
TATE ON THE BOARD: Junior forward Tate Laczkowski, the tallest player on Army's roster, serves as the biggest rebounding threat for Army. Laczkowski leads Army, averaging 6.2 rebounds a game, earning nine rebounds in his first career start versus Maritime, eight rebounds against St. Thomas, and seven rebounds at Cornell, all three being team-highs. The junior earned a season-high six points in Army's loss to Harvard. In Army's first two games, he added four points and one block against Maritime and five points in a career-high 31 minutes against St. Thomas.
THE WALLET: A key role player for Army, Kevin McCarthy averages 8.3 points a game. In Army's game against Maritime, the sophomore sharpshooter scored a career-high 18 points and also added career-highs in field goals made (7), three-pointers made (4) steals (3), and minutes (28). He also tied his career-high in three-pointers made against St. Thomas. He earned a career-high four assists against Duke and a season-high six rebounds at Cornell. He most recently earned 10 points against Marist.
FOR THE YOUNG GUNS: The Black Knights' roster will look different this season after graduating an eight-person senior class. Now on the 18-man roster, there are five upperclassmen and 13 underclassmen, with nine sophomores and four freshmen. The new freshmen joining Army include Jackson Furman, Dillon Watt, Dylan Benner and Jahaan Green. Before joining the Academy, Furman, Benner and Green each played a year at the United States Military Academy Preparatory School (USMAPS).
HELD IN HIGH REGARD: Team captain, Jackson Mayo, was named USMA's Deputy Brigade Commander, the second-highest-ranked position in the Corps of Cadets, over the summer. The senior started the season scoring six points with two made three-pointers in Army's season-opener win against Maritime.

- This is the first matchup between these programs.
Scouting the Lions
- East Texas A&M is 3-3 to start the 2025-26 season, earning wins over Arlington Baptist, Dallas Christian, and, most recently, earning its first Div. I win over FDU.
- Head coach Jaret von Rosenberg is in his ninth season at the helm in Commerce, Texas, holding a 122-115 record, having successfully transitioning his program from Div. II to Div. I.
- Ronnie Harrison, a transfer from Tarleton State, leads the Lions with 14.3 points a game while also averaging 4.2 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.3 steals a game.
- Vinny Sigona is the only other Lion who averages double digits, averaging 11.0 points a game while also averaging 2.5 assists a game.
