WEST POINT, N.Y. – Army West Point Swimming & Diving and Director of Swimming & Diving Brandt Nigro announced Saturday the squad's schedule for the 2024-25 season. The team will face 11 weekends of competition before the Patriot League Championships in February.
After a successful 2023-24 season that saw the Black Knights earn a 3-1 record against conference opponents, claim second place at the 2023 Patriot League Championships in both the men's and women's competitions, see their first athlete qualify for the NCAA Championships since 1987, and send five athletes to the 2024 U.S. Olympic Time Trials, including the first member of the women's swim team and the first Army swimmer to compete in multiple events at the Trials, the team is ready to be back in action and are hungry for more as the 2024-25 season looms closer.
The Black Knights will prepare for the season with a trio of intrasquad meets – the Kelley Lemmon Challenge on August 24th, the Mile with Kyle on August 30th, and the Bernstein Challenge on September 13th.
These intrasquad competitions will lead the team into their regular season meets, beginning with a dual meet against Marist in their home facility at Crandall Pool on September 27th for just the second meeting between the two programs.
The women's team will next welcome Vermont and Central Connecticut State to West Point for a tri-meet on October 4th before the Black Knights head to Minneapolis, Minn. for a dual meet against Minnesota over October 11-12th.
Army Swimming & Diving will return home to Crandall Pool to welcome Boston College and Boston University for dual meets on October 25th and 26th respectively, followed by another home meet against St. Bonaventure over November 1st-2nd.
After a brief break for the Black Knights, the team will head to Greensboro, N.C. for the NC State Invite over November 21st-23rd to close out November before hosting Navy on December 5th for the annual Star Meet.
Upon returning from winter break, the squad will travel to Lewisburg, Pa. for a dual meet against Bucknell on January 11th. This will be the 25th meeting between the men's programs and the 24th meeting for the women's teams.
The Black Knights then return home for a dual meet on January 25th as they welcome Loyola Maryland to Crandall Pool for Firstie Night.
A January 31st dual meet at Penn State will round out Army Swimming & Diving's regular season slate before the 2024 Patriot League Championship meet, held in Lewisburg, Pa. over February 19th-22nd.
