LAST TIME OUT
The last time the Black Knights took the field was in a non conference, midweek double header against Central Connecticut. They fell in both games, in a close fashion, 1-3 and 5-6 (10 inn.).Â
Game 1:Â
- Central Connecticut took an early lead in the first inning with a fly out to center field from Paige Stringer.
- Army's starting pitcher, Amanda Eaglin, held Central Connecticut in check in the second inning, but Central Connecticut extended their lead in the third with a two-run home run.
- Relief pitcher Breanna Izzo limited Central Connecticut's offense for the rest of the game, allowing only two hits and giving Army a chance to comeback.
- Despite Army scoring in the final inning with an RBI double from Caitlyn Newburn, they fell short in game one of the doubleheader, losing 3-1.
Game 2:Â
- Central Connecticut swiftly scored three runs in the top of the first inning, carrying momentum from the previous game.
- Olivia Farris's pitching in the bottom of the second halted Central Connecticut's momentum, as they failed to secure a hit or run.
- Army began to seize back momentum in the top of the third, sparked by Ashton White's home run.
- Army continued to rally, with Julia Farris and Kayla Edwards contributing to tying and then taking the lead in the game.
- Despite Central Connecticut's late-game comeback to force extra innings and ultimately win, Army's pitchers Olivia Farris and Lauren Levendoski showcased strong performances, tallying 13 strikeouts combined.
