Softball Heads to Lewisburg to Take on Bucknell

WEST POINT, N.Y.- The Army West Point softball team (4-23, 0-3 PL) is set to travel to Lewisburg to take on Bucknell (12-16, 3-0 PL) in their second conference series of the season.

LAST TIME OUT
Army faced off against Siena on Wednesday afternoon, ultimately falling, 10-4. Due to inclement weather, the second game of the doubleheader was canceled.Â
Siena took an early lead with Emma Petersen hitting an RBI single in the first inning.
Army tied the score in the first inning as Ashton White's ground ball brought Kayla Edwards home.
Army's pitcher Katelyn Flanders performed well, allowing only one hit and no runs until the fifth inning.
Army scored two more runs, with Mia Bonsignore and Ashton White securing RBIs in the second and fifth innings respectively.
Siena staged a comeback in the sixth inning, led by Petersen's three-run home run, adding six more runs.
Army's relief pitcher Lauren Levendoski stopped Siena's advance but couldn't prevent the defeat.
Despite the loss, Ashton White had a standout performance, going three-for-four with two RBIs.Â

Zoie Smith, Bucknell's senior catcher, leads the team in hitting with 27 hits and 19 RBI this season. Following closely behind is Brooke Popella, who has contributed 14 RBI and 22 total hits.
