Gymnastics Sweeps Weekly ECAC Awards

DANBURY, CT - Army West Point gymnastic sees a clean sweep in this week's ECAC awards cycle, announced today by the league.
Plebe Nick Lester was named co-gymnast of the week, while yearling Maddox Pabellon earned co-specialist of the week and plebe Jaden Blank was named co-rookie of the week.
The troika of honorees comes after Army picked up an impressive tri-meet victory over both Springfield and William & Mary with a team score of 393.400.
Lester recorded a career-high 13.500 on floor routine to help lead the Black Knights to a season-high 67.550 in the event. Not to be outdone on vault, the plebe registered a 14.450 for another career-best which paced Army in the event. He added marks of 12.600 (pommel horse), 12.25 (still rings) and 12.200 (high bar) as part of the effort.
Pabellon continued his strong season on pommel, posting a 13.850 to comfortably win the event by half a point. He added a 13.700 contribution on vault as part of his performance.Â
Blank set a new career-best in the floor exercise as well, tabbing a 13.800 and a third-place individual finish in the event. The plebe also logged scores of 12.750Â on high bar and12.300 on still rings to help lead Army to the victories.
The Black Knights will return to action for the regular season finale on Saturday, traveling to Springfield for a dual meet set for a 1:00 p.m. start.
