Gymnastics Places Third at the All-Academy Championships

FORT WORTH, Texas. – Army West Point gymnastics completed competition against fellow service academy schools, Air Force and Navy on Friday evening. The Black Knights finished in third with a 301.600 team score.
The Black Knights saw success on the pommel horse and vault with both Maddox Pabellon and Nick Lester tying for the event title in the respective events with a 14.300 and 13.850.
In the first event of the evening, the floor exercise, the Black Knights were led by freshman Thomas Morrow who scored a season and career high 13.450 earning sixth in the event. Senior John Wear made his second appearance of the season on the Floor Exercise and scored a career high 12.600.
On the Pommel Horse, Pabellon shined with an event best 14.300, his highest of the season. Additionally, sophomore Jake Prabhakaran finished in fourth place with a career best 13.700. In the third event, the Still Rings, Carter Beck earned a 12.450 for a sixth-place finish.
In the Vault, the Black Knights as a team scored their highest score of the night with a 53.100. Nick Lester tied for the best score across all competitors with a 13.850, while Jaden Blank earned a 13.450 for a new season best.
For the last event of the night, the Horizontal Bar, Tyson Phelps led all Army gymnasts with a new season high 12.300 and finished in sixth place.
