Army Gymnastics Falls to Navy in Star Meet

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Army West Point gymnastics fell to Navy (2-0, 2-0 ECAC) in the annual star meet by a score of 308.200-303.000. The meet was a part of the Star Series presented by USAA. Army (0-2, 0-1 ECAC) had two gymnasts took home individual event titles: junior Jaden Blank on the vault and parallel bars and sophomore Noah Duran on the pommel horse.
On the floor exercise, Blank was the highest finisher for the Black Knights earning a 13.000, which is a new season best for the junior. Freshman Thomas Morrow made his fourth appearance on the floor in as many chances for Army. Jacob Brenner made his first collegiate appearance on the floor exercise.
Duran took home the individual title on the Pommel Horse with a 13.500, beating his season high from the West Point Open. The Black Knights took home three of the top five spots in the event with sophomore Jake Prabhakaran earning a 13.400 to place in second. Army took home the Pommel Horse title with a team score of 52.950 on the event compared to Navy's 51.700.
In the Vault, Blank took home the individual title earning a 13.850, which is a new career high. Freshman Felipe Junqeira earned a 13.650 for new career high in the event, coming in third individually. On the Parallel Bars, Blank took home his second individual title of the day with a 12.950 for a new season high. In the event, the Black Knights scored a 49.850 compared to Navy's 49.000.
In the sixth and final event, the Horizontal Bar, sophomore Cash Johnston earned a 13.1500, a new season high, which placed him second individually. The Black Knights earned a team score of 49.450 on the apparatus beating Navy who earned a 49.300.
