Jaden Blank Earns ECAC Gymnast of the Week Honors

DANBURY, CT - Army West Point gymnastics plebe Jaden Blank has been named ECAC Gymnast of the Week, announced today by the league.
The recognition comes following a sensational performance at the USA Gymnastics Winter Cup in Louisiville, Kentucky this past weekend. Blank was the lone representative of the conference to qualify for the competition, eventually placing 21st overall among the best in the nation.
Blank placed eighth in the floor routine during the prelim session with a stout mark of 13.600. His 13.550 on vault led to a 72.100 total score following day one, qualifying for Sunday's finals session. The plebe had an ever stronger effort in the return, logging a 73.450 with his two-day compiled score of 145.550 landing him 21st overall and first among CGA rookies. His finals routines were highlighted by strong marks on vault (13.000), high bar (12.850) and still rings (12.750).
This is the second ECAC honor for Blank this season, who received ECAC Rookie of te Week on January 30. His top all-around score this season of 77.500 leads all Army gymnasts and earned him CGA Rookie of the Week in Janaury as well.
The Black Knights will return to action on Saturday, March 9th for a tri-meet with Springfield and William & Mary, which also marks senior day at the Gross Center.
