KAPOLEI, Hawai'i – The Army West Point golf team competed in the first round of the Kapolei Invitational at Kapolei Golf Club and current sits in a tie for 10th place on the team leaderboard.

The Black Knights finished day one with a team score of 295 (+7). Texas State has the team lead at 6-under after the first round. Sakke Siltala of the Bobcats is leading the tournament with a 6-under 66.

TOURNAMENT NOTES
• Dragon Theam was Army's best player in round one with a 1-over 73.
• Theam posted an eagle on a par 4 and posted two birdies in his two rounds.
• Griffin Garvin, who is competing in his second tournament, was 2-over on the day with a pair of birdies on the back nine.
• Josh Kim and Lake Kim also finished 2-over par with a pair of 74s for the Black Knights.
• Both had a trio of birdies during their rounds.
• John Heckel Jr. finished his day at 3-over par with a 75 to start the tournament.

The teams are back out on the course at Kapolei Golf Club on Wednesday for a 3 PM ET / 9 AM local tee time.
