Army Falls to Georgia Southern in Bush Cup Match

RIDGELAND, S.C. – The Army West Point golf team took on Georgia Southern in the Bush Cup on Tuesday with the Eagles earning the 8-5-6.5 win in match play at Congaree Golf Club.

The two squads were tied at 2.5-2.5 after foursome play in the morning. Samuel Kim and Drew Jeffords earned the victory in their match at 2&1 and Lake Kim and Zach Clark halved their match as well. Josh Kim and John Heckel Jr. got a point in their match due to the Eagles pair having to withdraw.

In singles play, Patrick Song won his match 1-up on the final hole of play, while Rob Ferris was impressive in his match as well. He won 5&4 against the Eagles to earn a point for the Black Knights. Both Joshua Kim and Drew Jeffords halved their matches to give the Black Knights another full point. Army received another point due to Georgia Southern needing to withdraw in the final singles match.

The Black Knights are back in action on Oct. 30 at the Veterans Intercollegiate at Sebonack Golf Club in Southampton, N.Y., for the two-day tournament.
