Football Set to Host ACU Saturday

SETTING THE SCENE
• The Black Knights look to get back to their winning ways as they host Abliene Christian at Michie Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 3 at 1:30 p.m. ET. The game will be telecast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
• Ben Holden will handle the play-by-play duties, the color analyst is Ross Tucker and the sideline reporter is Tina Cervasio.
• The game can be heard on the radio, both on the flagship stations WBNR and WLNA, Sirius 134, XM 203 and streamed through the TuneIn app on the Army Black Knights Radio.

FACING THE WILDCATS
•The Black Knights and the Wildcats will meet for the first time in program history on the gridiron on Saturday.
•The two squads have one common opponent in 2020 in Mercer. The Black Knights are scheduled to play Mercer on Oct. 24 at Michie Stadium, one week before the Wildcats visit them in Macon, Ga. on Oct. 31.
• The Black Knights are 9-2 against FCS opponents under seventh-year head coach Jeff Monken and have won the last eight-straight.

DEFENSIVE PROWESS
• Despite the loss, the Black Knights held No. 14-ranked Cincinnati to just 2.0 yards per rush, the Bearcats' lowest yards per rush total since 2016.
• Army's defense has held all opponents so far this season to under 100 yards rushing.
• Opponents are averaging 192 yards per game at Michie Stadium in 2020.
• Army's defense is currently ranked fourth in total yards allowed per game nationally (238.3 yards per game)
• Defense is ranked 8th in yards-per-carry allowed at 2.29 yards-per-carry.
• Defense is ranked 5th in rushing yards allowed per game (60.3).
• Ranks second in passes defended (17).
• Black Knights rank in the top five nationally in INTs (4th) and fumbles recovered (2nd).
• Army's defense has forced 19 of 30 drives to end in in a turnover, turnover on downs or three and out so far this season (63 percent of drives).
• Army's defense ranked seventh nationally in red zone scoring.
• Army's defense is ranked fifth nationally in first downs allowed.
• Army boasts four interceptions by four different players so far on the season, good for fourth-best nationally.

BEST IN THE LAST DECADE EARLY
• Army's defense has forced eight turnovers through three games in 2020, the most turnovers forced through the first three games of any season in the last decade in program history.
• Army has allowed only 31 points total through the first three games of the season, the least amount of points allowed over the first three games of the year in the last decade. 238.3 total yards allowed per game through the first three games of the season is also the lowest total through the first three games in the last decade for Army.
