WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point hockey team dropped a 3-0 contest to No. 20 Sacred Heart at Tate Rink Friday night.Â

The Black Knights and Pioneers skated to a scoreless first period, but Sacred Heart broke away in the second with a 1-0 lead. The Pioneers then scored two in the final 2:04 of the game to secure the victory.Â

- The game was dead even after the first period with a scoreless game and the teams balanced with nine shots apiece.Â
- Sacred Heart scored five minutes into the second though to take a 1-0 advantage.Â
- Marc Johnstone tipped the puck in off an initial shot by Austin McIlmurray.Â
- With 5:09 on the clock, Trevin Kozlowski smothered the puck after making a diving save to keep it a one-point contest.Â
- The Pioneers jumped ahead 2-0 after an even-strength goal by Alex Bates at 17:56.
- Sacred Heart stamped the victory with an unassisted empty net goal by Jason Cotton with four seconds to play.Â

- Kozlowski kept the game tight through the first two periods of play.Â
- The junior netminder totaled 21 saves on the night.Â
- Kozlowski has made at least 20 saves in 17 games this season.Â
- The Pioneers outshot Army 24-18.Â
- Army held the third-ranked power play unit in the nation without a goal tonight.Â
- John Zimmerman led the Black Knights' defense with three blocked shots.Â
- Sacred Heart improved to 20-10-2 and 17-8-1 in league games, while Army dropped to 17-13-2 overall and 14-10-2 in the AHA.Â
