Army Hosts Tulane on Homecoming Weekend

WEST POINT, N.Y. -Â The Black Knights return to Michie Stadium to face the Tulane Green Wave on Saturday at noon.
Army is coming off a 52-21 win over Morgan State on Sept. 21.Â
The contest will air live on CBS Sports Network with Ben Holden, Ross Tucker and Tina Cervasio on the call. The game can also be heard on the Army Sports Network through the TuneIn app or goarmywestpoint.com.

THE OPENING KICKOFF
• On top of being 20th nationally in total defense (287.8), Army is tied for sixth in fumble recoveries (6), tied for seventh in red zone defense (.625), tied for ninth in first downs allowed (58), tied for 13th in takeaways (10), 19th in scoring (16.3) and 20th in passing (183.3).Â
• Army had three interceptions in the Morgan State win, the most for the Black Knights in a single game since also snagging three at Wake Forest on Oct. 29, 2016.
• Senior defensive back Elijah Riley had a hand in two takeaways vs. Morgan State, recording a forced fumble and an interception. He has had a hand in four takeaways over the last three games.Â
• Riley's three forced fumbles are tied for second in the nation while his 0.75 sacks per game are tied for 37th.Â
• Senior linebacker Cole Christiansen is tied for 11th nationally in forced fumbles (2), tied for 45th in tackles (39) and tied for 46th in solo stops (23). He has made 27 consecutive starts for West Point.
• Army's offense is fourth nationally in rushing (293.5), 11th in fourth down conversions (.875), and 22nd in time of possession (32:54).
• Senior fullback Connor Slomka ran for a career-high 110 yards on 18 carries (6.1 average) to go along with his 11th career rushing touchdown against Morgan State. He ranks 37th nationally in rushing (87.0).
• Army had six different players record a touchdown against Morgan State, the most since seven did in a 64-6 victory over Fordham on Sept. 1, 2017.
• Junior Christian Anderson's 80-yard touchdown pass to junior Artice Hobbs IV against the Bears was the longest passing play for Army since Zac Dahman found Tielor Robinson for a 93-yard score vs. Cincinnati at Michie Stadium on Oct. 9, 2004.

• The two teams last met on Sept. 23, 2017 in New Orleans, with Tulane squeaking out a 21-17 victory.Â

• From 1998 to 2004, Army played Tulane when both were members of Conference USA. The Green Wave held a slight 4-3 edge in those conference matchups.Â
