WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point sprint football team fell to service academy foe Navy, 14-7, in this year's first edition of the Star Series presented by USAA Friday evening at Shea Stadium.
Army (1-1) took a 7-0 lead into halftime, but a pair of quick Midshipmen (2-0) scores in the third quarter proved to be the difference.
The Black Knights totaled 298 yards of total offense compared to Navy's 123, but Army turned the ball over a total of six times on the evening.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES
- John Descisciolo led the way with 74 yards receiving, including a career long 43-yard reception.
- Nitai Chun reeled in his first touchdown of the season with an eight-yard touchdown catch. Chun finished the day with three receptions for a total of 18 yards.
- Alex Sobeski registered seven tackles, including 3.5 for a loss of yards.
- David Dickerson led Army with eight total tackles.
- Army's leading rusher was Matthew Sauter, who amassed 55 yards on 15 carries.
HOW IT HAPPENED
First Quarter
- Both defenses looked strong on the opening frame, as both sides struggled to move the ball in the early goings.
- The longest drive of the first quarter belonged to Army. It was a 13-play 55-yard drive that spanned just over five and a half minutes, but ended in a punt.
Second Quarter
- With game still scoreless, Army got the ball back with 1:11 remaining in the half at its 34 yardline. The Black Knights quickly marched the ball down the field, scoring in just three plays. The drive was capped off with Chun's 8-yard touchdown catch.
- The biggest play of the drive came on a 43-yard connection from Ryan Sullivan to Descisciolo.
Third Quarter
- Navy's first scoring drive came on its first possession of the second half. The Midshipmen marched the ball 75 yards on seven plays to even the score with 6:04 left in the quarter.
- The Mids then took 14-7 lead with just over three and a half minutes later on pick six from David Postma.
Fourth Quarter
- The Black Knights had some promising drives in the final frame, but each ended in a turnover.
