West Garners CSFL Offensive Player of the Week Nod

WEST POINT, N.Y. – Senior quarterback Keegan West of the Army West Point sprint football team was named the Collegiate Sprint Football League (CSFL) Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Black Knights to a 17-14 victory over service-academy rival Navy last weekend.
West earned his first career recognition from the league after going 27-for-37 through the air for 248 yards. The West Point, N.Y., native tossed two touchdowns and added 24 rushing yards on five carries. He led the Black Knights on two game-tying drives before orchestrating a 15 play, 68 yard drive that resulted in the game-winning field goal. West was an impressive 8-for-9 for 91 yards and a touchdown in the fourth quarter. Additionally, he threw his 35th career touchdown pass in the game.
He improved to 2-1 all-time against Navy and guided the Cadets to their second consecutive win over Navy, the first time Army has won back-to-back Star Games since 2012-13.
The Black Knights open their home 2018 slate on Saturday when they host Saint Thomas Aquinas at 1 p.m. at Shea Stadium.
