- Following two scoreless frames, Lehigh jumped ahead 3-0 with a trio of runs in the top of the third.
- The lead did not hold for long as Army came up to bat in the home half of the inning and evened the score up. Taylor Livingston led off the inning with an infield single and scored once Swafford shot a double into left. After a McPeek base knock, two Cadets were on for Reilly, who ripped a two-RBI single up the middle to tie the game.
- Reilly came through once again later in the game once she hit an RBI double into the gap in right center with no outs in the fifth, scoring McPeek all the way from first.
- Leading 4-3 entering the bottom of the sixth, the Army bats erupted. Ally Snelling was called on to pinch hit and she led off the frame with a double to left center. Wyatt came in to pinch run for Snelling and after the first out was recorded, she stole third. Livingston then shot a chopper to short and the throw was sent home, but it was low and Wyatt scored.
- The second out was recorded in the inning, but the Cadets still were not finished. Livingston was on second, setting up McPeek for an RBI single. Reilly then took the first pitch she saw and sent it over the fence in right to extend Army's lead to five, 8-3.
- With the bases cleared, Ballesteros singled up the middle before scoring on a Drayton RBI double to left center to cap a five-run sixth inning.
- Lehigh attempted to climb back into the game in the seventh and loaded the bases with no outs. However, Springman fanned back-to-back batters before getting the final Mountain Hawk hitter to ground out to third.
