Cadets Travel to #6/8 Loyola for Friday Night Tilt

WEST POINT, N.Y. – It's the final week of the regular season. The Army West Point men's lacrosse team heads to Baltimore, Md., to take on the No. 6/8 Loyola Greyhounds on Friday night.
The Black Knights and Greyhounds will face each other at 7 p.m. All other teams in the league are also playing on Friday night to ensure the championship field is set.
The game will be aired on CBS Sports Network to mark the third straight week the Cadets played on national television.
Ben Holden and Evan Washburn will be on the call for Friday's game at the Ridley Athletic Complex.

- In regular season games, the Black Knights and Greyhounds are tied 2-2 in Baltimore.
- Last year, Loyola topped Army at home in the Patriot League Championships.
- David Symmes led the Black Knights in that contest with two goals and an assist, while Matthew Do-novan tallied one score.
- AJ Barretto made 10 saves in the game along with two groundballs.
- Army was outshot by the Greyhounds 40-24, but the Cadets boasted a .625 shot on goal percentage compared to Loyola's .575.
- The Black Knights held an 11-9 advantage on faceoffs.

- The Greyhounds enter the weekend with a 9-3 overall record and are 6-1 in Patriot League contests.
- Loyola is fighting for hosting rights in the league championships.
- The Greyhounds' lone league loss comes from Bucknell on March 24 by a score of 12-11 at the Ridley Athletic Complex.
- They haven't lost a contest since and are riding a four-game winning streak with victories over Colgate (11-7), Lehigh (16-10), Georgetown (11-8) and Boston U. (23-9).
- Friday's game will be Loyola's third on CBS Sports Network this season. The team is 2-0 when nationally televised.
- Spencer is the Greyhounds' most impactful player on the field.
- He leads the Patriot League with 74 points and is also first in assists with 3.83 per game.

- This has allowed Army to rank 16th nationally in scoring margin (2.18), while the Greyhounds take the number five slot (5.00).
- Army's defensive core is responsible for 9.18 caused turnovers per game to rank fifth in college lacrosse.
- Johnny Surdick leads the squad with 20 caused turnovers and sits tied for ninth in the country in caused turnovers per game at 2.00 - all while covering opponent's top scorer.
- Loyola's Foster Huggins leads the nation with 3.33 caused turnovers per game.
- Pat Spencer is currently ranked fourth in points per game with 6.17.
- Barretto's 7.22 goals against average is good for third in college lacrosse.
MILESTONE TRACKER
- Nate Jones eclipsed the 100 career point mark this season. He has posted three points in Army's last four games and now totals 105 in his career.
- The junior joined 32 others who have accomplished the feat in Army's 101-year history.
STREAKS
- Jones is the lone player to notch at least one goal in every game played this season and a minimum of two points.
- In his last four appearances, Jones has totaled three points in each.
- Glancy has tallied a point in every appearance this season. He boasts nine in the last four games.
AUTISM AWARENESS MONTH
- April marks Autism Awareness month and it will be the second year in a row that Army will don the helmet decal in honor of the cause.
- They decided to add the logo on the back of the helmet after Ashton Guidi of Goshen, N.Y., sent Coach Alberici a handwritten letter asking the team "stand up for the little guy" last season.
- This year, Ashton wrote a letter to the rest of the league inviting them to help spread awareness as well.
CLASS OF 2018
- The senior class boasts 37 wins in their careers.
- The group accounts for 79 points, 160 groundballs and 38 caused turnovers through the first 11 games of the season.
- Army's seniors have produced half of the offensive points so far.
ARMY LEADERS
- Jones leads the Black Knights offensively with 31 points. He tops the team with 22 goals and is followed by Conor Glancy (16) and Symmes (14).
- John Ragno boasts a .558 faceoff efficiency and is third on the team in ground balls with 31.
- Jon LaMonica leads the Black Knights with 54 groundballs and averages 4.9 per game, while Surdick has 37.
- Barretto has made 83 saves. He averages 7.22 goals against and has a .525 save percentage.
NATIONAL AUDIENCE
- The Black Knights will play on CBS Sports Network for the third week in a row on Friday night.
- The matchup will be aired at 7 p.m. on April 20.
