Jacksonville-Bound Cadets to Open Season on Friday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point softball team will begin its 2018 campaign in the Sunshine State this weekend as the Black Knights take part in the three-day River City Leadoff in Jacksonville, Fla.
The Cadets will open their season with a pair of Friday games against UConn at 10:30 a.m. and Jacksonville State at 1 p.m. Army will return to the field the following day for a 1 p.m. showdown with Jacksonville State before taking on Jacksonville at 6 p.m.
The weekend will come to a close at 10 a.m. on Sunday when the Black Knights meet the Huskies one final time.Â

- The team is upperclassmen dominant with 13 juniors and seniors to go along with a pair of sophomores and three rookies.

- The Dolphins finished the 2017 season with a 30-25 mark and played to an 8-2 record in Atlantic Sun play.
- Jacksonville returns four All-Conference players from last year's squad.
