October 03, 2018 | Men's Soccer
WEST POINT, N.Y. – An early second half score by junior Tyler Mitchiner helped propel the Army West Point men's soccer team to a 1-0 Patriot League victory over Lafayette on Wednesday night at Malek Stadium at Clinton Field.
The Black Knights (4-5-1, 1-2 Patriot League) secured their first league win of the season and the second consecutive victory against the Leopards (4-4-2, 0-2-1 Patriot League).
Mitchiner's goal turned out to be all the Cadets needed on the night as the defense held strong against the Lafayette offensive attack. Justin Stoll tallied four saves in between the pipes in a shutout performance.
