Army Set to Host Loyola, American at Gillis

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point volleyball team returns to Gillis Field House Friday and Saturday nights for Patriot League matchups against Loyola and American. Friday's match is set to begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday's will start at 8:30 p.m. following the football game on Post.

ARMY (9-6, 2-0 Patriot League)
- The Black Knights opened Patriot League play with three-set sweeps over Bucknell and Lafayette on the road.
- Army leads the PL in hitting percentage with a .261 and is also first in service aces with an average of 1.63 per set.
- Rachel Gearon stepped up for the team over the weekend with 23 kills and a .514 hitting percentage over the two matches.
- Courtney Horace posted a career-high 14 kills opposite Lafayette after coming off the bench.
- Carolyn Bockrath leads the league and is 26th in the country with a .410 hitting percentage.

LOYOLA (6-9, 0-2 Patriot League)
- Loyola enters the weekend with a 6-9 record and a 0-2 mark in league play.
- The Greyhounds and Black Knights have one common opponent from the tournament season which is Akron. Army defeated the Zips 3-0, while Loyola topped them by a score of 3-1.
- Ann Ernst leads the Greyhounds in kills per set (3.54) and is fourth in the Patriot League. She tops the team in service aces per set (0.21).
- Molly Werts and Ashley Kozer have split time in the setters position and dish out 4.96 assists per set and 4.50 assists per set, respectively.

AMERICAN (2-10, 1-1 Patriot League)
- American enters the weekend with an 8-7 record and a 1-1 mark in league play.
- The Eagles dropped a 3-1 decision to Navy on Tuesday night.
- The Eagles and Black Knights shared one common opponent so far this season in Georgetown. Both teams suffered a loss to the Hoyas.
- Aleksandra Kazala ranks seventh in the country in kills per set with a 4.85 average. She also dishes out 3.33 digs and 0.22 service aces per set.
