Top Seeded Army Readies for League Championships

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The No. 1 seed Army West Point women's tennis team is headed to Bethlehem, Pa., this weekend for the Patriot League Championships at Lehigh's Ulrich Varsity Courts.

• The Black Knights enter the league tournament as the top seed for the 13th time in program history and first since 2013.
• Army's seven victories in Patriot League play ties its mark from 2014 for the most league wins in a single season.
• Sophomore Kirby Einck leads the team with 20 wins in both singles and doubles, the only Cadet to reach the milestone in either facet this season.
• Senior co-captain Allyson Hayley follows closely behind, ranking third on the team with 16 singles wins and second in doubles victories with 19.
ARMY AT THE PATRIOT LEAGUE TOURNAMENT
• Army is a combined 38-9 in the Patriot League tournament, including a 23-1 record as the No. 1 seed.
• The Black Knights' have captured 13 league championships, with the last one coming in 2013 with a 4-1 victory over Navy.
• Army's most common opponent in tournament history has been Colgate, with the two sides meeting 15 times.
THE FIELD
• The Cadets have faced everyone in the league except Colgate this season.
• Second-seed Boston University is looking for its fourth Patriot League title in a row.
• The Terriers have won the title all three years since joining the Patriot League in 2014.
• The last current Patriot League team to win the title besides Army or Boston U., was Colgate in 1997.
