Army Earns Record 12th Shutout Versus Lafayette

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The No. 1 seed Army West Point women's tennis team opened the Patriot League Championships with a 4-0 victory over Lafayette in the quarterfinals Friday morning at the Ulrich Varsity Courts.

The Black Knights improved to 20-6, while the Leopards end their season with a mark of 7-15.

ARMY HIGHLIGHTS AND GAME NOTES

Army improved to 23-10 all-time against Lafayette and 3-1 in the Patriot League tournament.
The Black Knights recorded their 12th shutout victory of the season, breaking the program record which was previously held by the 2010 squad.
The Cadets won their 20th match of the season, marking the 10th time in program history an Army team has reached that mark. All 10 20-win seasons have come under the tutelage of head coach Paul Peck.
It is the ninth time in the last 10 years that the Black Knights have reached the milestone.
Army improved to 8-0 all-time in the Patriot League quarterfinals.
Nancy Porter sealed the victory with a win in the fourth singles flight, while the doubles team of Kirby Einck and Gloria Son clinched the doubles point in the second flight.
Melanie Allen documented her 10th win in singles dual matches on the year, all in the top flight.
