Women’s Tennis Sweeps Sunday Action

BALTIMORE & WEST POINT, N.Y. – Once again, Army West Point women's tennis split up its players, and once more, the Black Knights swept weekend action.

Army defeated non-league foe New Haven at West Point 7-0 on Sunday, all while another section of the squad took down Patriot League foe Loyola (MD) in Baltimore, 4-1.

With the wins, Army moves to 18-4 overall and 3-0 vs. conference opponents, with just three match weekends left in the regular season.

Army dropped two sets vs. New Haven but nothing more, with Madison Smith and Chelsie Son prevailing in singles super tiebreaks. Stacey Samonte, Isabella Brilliant, Olivia Manson and Sarah Yan each took their singles matches in straight sets.

Down the northeast corridor, Army took the doubles point on their way to defeating the Greyhounds 4-1, with singles victories from Vennmukiil Mathivanan, Emily Ruckno and Maryland native Olivia Mellynchuk.
