Cadets Continue Road Trip at Kennesaw State

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Army West Point women's lacrosse team begins its trip to Georgia for Spring Break with a Sunday afternoon game at Mercer. The opening draw is set to start at 1 p.m.

SCOUTING ARMY
- This will be the first meeting between Kennesaw State and Army.
- Army is now 4-3 this season with wins over Marist (13-12), Manhattan (11-6), Central Connecticut State (13-11) and Quinnipiac (9-8 2OT).
- In their last time out, the Black Knights fell in a tight matchup at Mercer, 14-13. Manuela Cortes led the team with a career-high six goal performance, while Amy Johnston recorded a hat trick in the second straight game.
- Kayla Rowley stepped into net for the Black Knights off the bench and made nine saves and caused a turnover.
- Army is led offensively by attacker Rachel Hornick, who ranks third in the Patriot League with 3.00 goals per game. Erin Jollota is third in the league in assists per game at 1.88.
- On the draw, Johnston and Samantha Stewart have been standouts with 27 and 17 draws apiece.
- In net, Maddie Burns has picked up the four wins as a freshman and has amassed 40 saves for a .408 saves percentage. She also leads the league in ground balls with 3.38 per game.
SCOUTING KENNESAW STATE
- The Owls have an even 2-2 record in the 2017 season with their last two games resulting in wins over Gardner Webb (21-9) and Radford (22-15).
- Connor Zophy leads the team with 18 points on 11 goals and seven assists.
- Sydney Farwick boats 14 goals this season for the most on the team and has also added three assists. She also ranks first on the team in draw controls (19) and ground balls (12).
- Three Owls have posted four caused turnovers so far this season.
- Alex Bunn has started in net in all four games and possesses a .405 save percentage. She has also notched five ground balls.
